Do I need a Mac to build an iPhone app?

Not with Tapwah. iPhone apps are normally built on a Mac, because Apple’s developer software, Xcode, only runs on macOS. Tapwah runs that software on Macs we operate. You use Tapwah from a web browser on any computer.

Can I build an iPhone app on Windows?

Yes. Open Tapwah in an up-to-date browser such as Chrome or Edge on your Windows PC. You describe the app in the chat and try it on a live iPhone screen in the same browser tab.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want in plain words and Tapwah writes the code, builds the app and fixes its own build errors. To change something, you ask for it in the chat.

What kind of apps can I make?

Native iPhone apps with lists, forms, buttons and several screens: trackers, schedules, checklists, calculators, recipe boxes and personal organizers. Apps keep their data on the phone while your session lasts, so it’s still there when you reopen the app in the same session. They can’t use the internet yet, and things that need phone hardware, such as the camera, can’t be tried on the live screen.

Are these real iPhone apps or web pages?

Real, native iPhone apps. Tapwah writes them in SwiftUI, Apple’s toolkit for iPhone apps, and builds them with Apple’s developer tools, the same way apps on the App Store are made.

Can I put my app on the App Store?

That’s where we’re headed, and we’ll guide you through it. Publishing help is coming soon. Apple requires an Apple Developer Program membership in your own name to publish an app ($99 a year, as of October 2026). You don’t need one to build and try your app in Tapwah.

Why do I need my own Apple Developer account to publish?

Apple lists every App Store app under the developer account that submitted it, and that account’s name appears as the seller. If we published your app from our account, it would be ours on paper. With your own account, the app is yours.

Can I try the app on my own iPhone?

Not yet. Today you try it on the live iPhone screen in your browser. Getting it onto your own phone comes with the App Store steps, which are coming soon.

Is Tapwah free?

Yes, to start. Every account gets 60 minutes of building a day and $3 of AI work, reset at 00:00 UTC. A Pro plan with 4 hours a day and $20 of AI work is coming soon. See pricing.

What happens to my app and data?

Your app’s code and your chat are stored so you can pick up where you left off. We don’t sell your data. If you delete your account, we delete your account details, your chat and your app’s files. Data your app saves on the live iPhone screen lasts only for your session. The privacy page has the details.

Which AI does Tapwah use?

Tapwah’s agent uses Claude, a model made by Anthropic, to write and fix your app’s code.

How long does it take to build an app?

In our tests, small starter apps were running between 21 seconds and about a minute after the first message. Changes after that usually take less time, depending on their size. A first build can take about a minute.
